The 10th Annual JAMA Reception

JAMA Europe hosted its 10^th annual reception in Brussels on Monday 24 October 2005 . 140 representatives from the automotive industry, the EU institutions, the media and many other friends of JAMA gathered in the Bibliothèque Solvay to informally exchange views, while sampling traditional Japanese cuisine.

JAMA Contribution to the European Economy in 2004

In 2004, the European operations of Japanese manufacturers recorded a production of 1.29 million units, which represents a 4.1% increase on 2003 results. With its many production and R&D facilities in Europe, Japanese automakers have succeeded in becoming an integral part of the EU auto industry as well as a direct contributor to its competitiveness (click here for a link to JAMA’s 2005 report on Japanese automakers in the EU).

JAMA Supports the Better regulation Initiative

JAMA welcomes the European Commission initiative, entitled “Better Regulation, Smarter Regulation” which is part of the EU’s plan to foster Europe ’s international competitiveness by cutting unnecessary red-tape and over-regulation. It particularly welcomes the three year programme presented by the Commission on the 25^th October 2005 .
