New chairman hosts JAMA's 15th reception in Brussels in June

Hosted by JAMA’s new chairman Akio Toyoda, the 15th JAMA reception took place on 27June at the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels.  The event brought together more than 180 participants, including key actors from EU institutions, EU Member States and industry for a timely dialogue on “EU-Japan Partnership for Economic Growth and Sustainable Mobility”.   JAMA was honoured to welcome Mr Frank Hoffmeister, Deputy Head of the cabinet of European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht, as its distinguished guest speaker.

JAMA releases its annual publication on members' contributions to the EU economy

The 2012 edition of JAMA's annual publication Common Challenges, Common Future provides the latest facts and figures concerning its members' production, research-and-development, parts-purchasing and new investment and employment activities in the European Union, testifying to the strength of their commitment to the region.

JAMA welcomes the report produced by the CARS 21 initiative

In June the European Commission-sponsored CARS 21 High Level Group presented its policy recommendations to support the competitiveness and sustainable growth of the European automotive sector until 2020. JAMA welcomes this strategic vision and the consistent focus of CARS 21 on smart regulation and the integrated approach to overcome present and projected challenges for the automobile industry.

Motor racing has always been about speed, noise and excitement and that’s not something that’s likely to change anytime soon. Just as road cars today feature ever more sophisticated eco technologies to cut emissions and improve fuel economy so the same thinking is being applied to the race track.
