Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the second quarter of 2004 totalled 2,445,199 units, an increase of 15.2% over the same quarter the previous year.This is explained primarily by expanded overseas production in the Asian and North American markets.
Results for the first half of calendar 2004 (January-June) were also up from the previous year, rising 14.3% to 4,756,782 units, owing likewise to expanded local production in the world’s major markets.
