Japanese Automakers’ 2004 Overseas Production Statistics
[3rd Quarter and Three Quarters Cumulative]

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the third quarter of 2004 totalled 2,426,132 units, an increase of 12.8% over the same quarter the previous year.This is explained primarily by expanded overseas production in the Asian, European and North American markets.

Results total for the three quarters of calendar 2004 (January-September) were also up from the previous year, rising 14.0% to 7,194,256 units, owing likewise to expanded local production in the world’s major markets.
