Japanese Automakers’ 2005 Overseas Production Statistics
[3rd Quarter and Three Quarters Cumulative]

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the third quarter of 2005 totalled 2,704,873 units, an increase of 11.5% over the same quarter the previous year. This is explained primarily by expanded overseas production in the Asian and North American markets.

Results total for the three quarters of calendar 2005 (January-September) were also up from the previous year, rising 8.8% to 7,829,190 units, owing likewise to expanded local production in the world’s major markets.
