Japanese Automakers’ 2005 Overseas Production Statistics
[4th Quarter and Yearly Cumulative]

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the fourth quarter of 2005 totalled 2,736,377 units, an increase of 5.1% over the same quarter the previous year.  This is explained primarily by expanded overseas production in the world’s markets excepting Middle East.

Results for all of calendar year 2005 (January-December) were also up from the previous year, rising 8.2% to 10,605,587 units, owing likewise to expanded local production in the world’s markets excepting Middle East.
