Japanese Automakers’ 2007 Overseas Production Statistics
[Third Quarter and Three Quarters Cumulative]

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the third quarter of 2007 totalled 2,910,747 units. This is explained primarily by expanded overseas production in Asian and European markets.

The cumulative total for the three quarters of calendar year 2007 (January 2007 through September 2007) was tracked at 8,748,469 units, owing likewise to expanded overseas production except Middle East and Africa.

Notes:

  1. ・ The figures reflect the use of a new method, adopted as of January 2007, for computing overseas unit production.
  2. ・ The “Change from previous year” percentage figures were calculated by dividing the figures (obtained using the new computation method) by the previous year’s figures for the same period (obtained using the former method).
