Japanese Automaker’s Overseas Production 2008 Statistics
<Statistics for Fourth Quarter of 2008, Calendar 2008 Cumulative Total>
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the fourth quarter of 2008 totalled 2,530,593 units, a decrease of 18.6% over the same quarter the previous year, resulting from cutbacks in local production in all regions.
The production total for calendar year 2008 (January-December) was tracked at 11,651,428 units, down by 1.8% compared to calendar year 2007 due to the reduced local production in the North America.
