Japanese Automaker’s Overseas Production 2009 Statistics
<First Quarter of 2009, Cumulative Results for FY2008>
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the first quarter of 2009 totalled 1,966,440 units, a decrease of 37.3% over the same quarter the previous year. This outcome reflects the decline in local production recorded in all regions during the quarter under review.
The results compiled for fiscal year 2008 (April 2008 ~ March 2009) also revealed drops in local output production worldwide, with the final total coming in at 10,479,587 units (down 13.3% compared to fiscal 2007).
