Japanese Automakers’ 2009 Overseas Production Statistics
[2nd Quarter & 1st Half Cumulative of Calendar 2009]
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the second quarter of calendar year 2009 totaled 2,280,019 units, a decrease of 26.5% from the same quarter in previous year. This outcome reflects the declines in local production recorded in all regions during the quarter under review.
The results for the first half of 2009 (January - June 2009) were also impacted by the fall in local production worldwide, with the final total for that period tracked at 4,243,698 units (down 32.0% compared to the first half of 2008).
