Japanese Automakers' 2009 Overseas Production Statistics
[3rd Quarter & Three Quarters Cumulative of Calendar 2009]
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the third quarter of calendar year 2009 totaled 2,749,347 units, a decrease of 4.6% from the same quarter in the previous year. This outcome mirrors the declines in local production recorded in all regions, with the exception of Asia, during the quarter under review.
The results for January - September 2009 also reflected the fall in local production worldwide, with the final total coming in at 6,993,024 units (down 23.3% compared to the same nine-month period in 2008).
