Japanese Automaker Overseas Production Statistics
<Fourth Quarter of 2009, Calendar 2009 Cumulative Results>
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers during the fourth quarter of 2009 totaled 3,124,575 units, a gain of 23.5% compared to the same quarter the previous year. This outcome reflects expanded local production in Asian regions, along with increased levels of such local output in North and Latin America, during the quarter under review.
The results for all of calendar year 2009 (January ~ December 2009) were impacted by the fall in local production worldwide, with the exception of Asia. The final total for the 12-month period was tracked at 10,117,552 units (down 13.2% compared to calendar 2008).
