Japanese Automakers' 2011 Overseas Production Statistics
(Second Quarter and First Half Cumulative, Calendar 2011)
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the second quarter (April through June) of calendar 2011 totalled 2,771,901 units, down 12.7% from the same quarter in the previous year. This outcome reflects expanded local production in all regions, with the exception of Africa, during the quarter under review.
For the first half (January through June) of calendar 2011, overseas production by the automakers stood at 6,486,466 units also owing to expanded local production, except in North America and Oceania.
