Japanese Automakers’ Overseas Production Statistics:
Fourth Quarter & Annual Total, Calendar 2011
Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers during the fourth quarter of calendar year 2011 totalled 3,436,290 units, a decline of 2.0% from the same quarter in the previous year. While this outcome reflects, during the quarter under review, expanded local production in Europe and the Americas, it also reflects decreased local production in Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
Notwithstanding those declines, total overseas production for January through December 2011 stood at 13,382,390 units, up 1.5% from the yearly total for calendar 2010.
