June 2004 Automobile & Motorcycle Statistics and Summary

Automobile Production Data for June 2004

Automobile production in June 2004 was recorded as 935,302 units. Compared with the 874,876 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 60,426 units or 6.9%, and production up on the same month of the previous year after two months of downturn.

Exports (result) stood at 107.9% as compared with the same month of the previous year.

The production total for the period from January 2004 through June 2004 stood at 5,306,948 units, up 172,045 units or 3.4% as compared with the production total of 5,134,903 units recorded in the same period of the previous year.

Exports total (result) for the period from January 2004 through June 2004 stood at 104.0% as compared with the exports total recorded in the same period of the previous year.


Motorcycle Production Data for June 2004

Motorcycle production in June 2004 was recorded as 136,879 units. This is 5,972 units or 4.6% up as compared with the 130,907 total registered in the same month of the previous year. It is also production up on the same month of the previous year after seventeen months of downturn.

Automobile export in June 2004 was recorded as 420,092 units, up 30,637 units or 7.9% as compared with 389,455 units recorded for the same month of the previous year. It is an export increase on the same month of the previous year for four consecutive months.

Value of automobiles exported
The total value of automobiles exported was $9,351.14 million including $6,951.77 million for vehicles and $2,399.37 million for parts. This is an increase of $1,290.89 million or 16.0% compared with $8,060.25 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.

This is an increase of $5,856.20 million or 12.4% compared with $47,250.94 million recorded for the same period of the previous year.

Number of motorcycles exported
Motorcycle export in June 2004 was recorded as 94,221 units, up 24,599 units or 35.3% as compared with 69,622 units recorded for the same month of the previous year. It is an export increase on the same month of the previous year after two months of downturn.

Value of motorcycles exported
The total value of motorcycles exported for June 2004 was $420.13 million including $298.63 million for vehicles and $121.50 million for parts. This is an increase of $95.45 million or 29.4% compared with $324.68 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
