Automobile production in September 2004 was recorded as 964,164 units. Compared with the 931,634 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 32,530 units or 3.5%, and production up on the same month of the previous year for four consecutive months.

The total value of automobiles exported was $9,881.47 million including $7,627.95 million for vehicles and $2,253.52 million for parts. This is an increase of $784.15 million or 8.6% compared with $9,097.32 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.

The total value of motorcycles exported for September 2004 was $509.85 million including $389.86 million for vehicles and $119.99 million for parts. This is an increase of $149.53 million or 41.5% compared with $360.32 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
