Automobile Production Data for March 2005

Automobile production in March 2005 was recorded as 1,060,433 units. Compared with the 1,029,932 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 30,501 units or 3.0%, and production up on the same month of the previous year for three consecutive months.

The production total for the fiscal year 2004 (April 2004 through March 2005) stood at 10,617,038 units, up 260,661 units or 2.5% as compared with the production total of 10,356,377 units recorded in the same period of the previous year, and production up on the previous year for three consecutive years.

Motorcycle Production Data for March 2005

Motorcycle production in March 2005 was recorded as 177,253 units. This is 4,699 units or 2.6% down as compared with the 181,952 total registered in the same month of the previous year. It is also production down on the same month of the previous year for two consecutive months.

Automobile export in March 2005 was recorded as 438,688 units, up 13,199 units or 3.1% as compared with 425,489 units recorded for the same month of the previous year. It is an export increase on the same month of the previous year for two consecutive months.

The total value of automobiles exported was $10,140.76 million including $7,732.11 million for vehicles and $2,408.65 million for parts. This is an increase of $505.78 million or 5.2% compared with $9,634.98 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
