Automobile production in April 2005 was recorded as 870,967 units. Compared with the 847,056 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 23,911 units or 2.8%, and production up on the same month of the previous year for four consecutive months.

Motorcycle Production Data for April 2005

Motorcycle production in April 2005 was recorded as 136,340 units. This is 8,217 units or 6.4% up as compared with the 128,123 total registered in the same month of the previous year. It is also production up on the same month of the previous year after three months of downturn.

Automobile export in April 2005 was recorded as 428,373 units, up 26,908 units or 6.7% as compared with 401,465 units recorded for the same month of the previous year. It is an export increase on the same month of the previous year for three consecutive months.

Value of automobiles exported
The total value of automobiles exported was $9,961.02 million including $7,484.17 million for vehicles and $2,476.85 million for parts. This is an increase of $862.03 million or 9.5% compared with $9,098.99 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.

Motorcycle export in May 2005 was recorded as 74,965 units, up 3,201 units or 4.5% as compared with 71,764 units recorded for the same month of the previous year. It is an export increase on the same month of the previous year for two consecutive months.

Value of motorcycles exported
Total value of motorcycles exported for May 2005 was $451.83 million including $336.48 million for vehicles and $115.35 million for parts. This is an increase of $75.12 million or 19.9% compared with $376.71 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
